How about a brief introduction of yourself?

I am Emem Jonathan Abasiubong. I am in 300level studying international relations and diplomacy.

Your story so far as a Sportswoman? How it all started

So far I have found better happiness in playing football,as a female that plays soccer, It hasn't been difficult in any way because every time I go to play, the boys always welcome me and end up loving the way I play,I have never been treated like I am not supposed to play football with boys. I started playing football since I was little, way back to primary school as much as I can remember. I was the only girl that played soccer with the boys and it was definitely amazing.

You ever found it awkward playing football? (As it’s traditionally not the usual game for ladies)

I have never found playing football awkward, I mean since I remember playing soccer up till today, my Dad has been the one buying all my football kits. If my dad accepts and supports me, then I have no reason to feel awkward.

What positions do you play on the pitch?

I play 8 (Role of a supporting striker)

Quick question. You’ve watched Abuad guys play football, do you think you’re as good as or better than some of them?

Well, of course I think I am as good as a few.

Ever fancied play amongst or against them before? In the AFL Perhaps?

I have fancied playing with them (boys) in the AFL.

Your experience at The NPUGA Games 2015? Especially against Babcock University?

The experience was one I enjoyed and playing against Babcock was tough. All I wanted was for my team to win. Although we tried and worked as a team to win, to an extent we achieved success.

Any Special rituals or routine before a game?

No I don't have any special ritual. All I do is pray and hope to win.

Favorite Teammate?

My favorite team mate is Peace Ogeh

LOVED HIM (16)

On one of the evenings that we snuck out to hang out, I kept thinking of Tobi, I couldn’t get him out of my head. It was so funny that we haven’t spoken since I got back with Kola, I felt like he hated me and I couldn’t blame him after all I hated myself too.
