GENIUSES IN ABUAD

A lot of extremely smart people have been spotted in Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti. Some of which are breaking new grounds in technology like Obinaju Raymond (Leader of Team Life watch), Adeyemo Oluwaseun and Awhin Kevin of Team Life watch, in Debates and Essays like Onuigwe Gideon , others in, very impressive CGPA and performance in classes, like Abisuwa Joshua.

The Geniuses that caught my attention are the ones still shy of utilizing their potentials to the fullest. It has been noted that there are some gifted students hiding in their fears, being caged by the activities of their friends and bounded by the limitations of their family.

One may ask, “Why have I not seen or heard of these geniuses before now?” this is because of:

1.      Family: the beating administered to almost every Nigerian child, reduces their confidence thereby slowing down their decision making process. Note that these beatings may not have same effect on normal people.

2.      Friends: Associating with dumb people makes one dumber. This supports the saying, “show me your friend and I will tell you who you are.”

3.      Lecturers: Almost all ABUAD (Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti) teachers tend to give more marks to students who quote their notes in exam and less to those who explain the same thing the way they understood it, irrespective of their regular promise not to do this.

      Geniuses, learn to trust in yourselves more, and work with the system, you can’t change.
