BREAKING! As TEAMSCORA condemns Rape And Murder Of 19 Year Old Lady In Imo.

The Standing Committee on Reproductive Health and Aids (SCORA) on Wednesday night condemned the gang raping, murder and dumping of the corpse of a 19 year old lady in Imo state.

In a Press Release, Elizabeth Peters, a member of the TEAMSCORA P.R.O unit said…”What worries me most about this attack is that it seems like the society has become desensitized to rape, maybe it's the frequency or maybe it's because of the women that lie about it happening to them. Who knows. It's wrong".



The nude corpse of the lady was discovered a day after Valentine’s Day on Sunday Feb 15th at okwu village in Umunneato autonomous community in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.

The Victim

The Corpse had bruises all over, especially around the breasts and private parts, leading people to believe she was brutally raped and murdered. The identity of victim or her age is still unknown.



Speaking also through another of her P.R.O’s, Omotoso Alex who said…” Should we treat women as independent agents, responsible for themselves? Of course. But being responsible has nothing to do with being raped. Women don’t get raped because they were drinking or took drugs. Women do not get raped because they weren’t careful enough. Women get raped because someone raped them, this is ridiculous and barbaric and we all should join TEAMSCORA in the fight against rape".
